The License to Carry-Prep (LTC-P) is a beginner class for applicants with little to no experience with firearms. The goal of this class is familiarizing applicants with the safe operation of firearms and the Texas LTC proficiency test. Student participate in supervised group paced instruction of dry fire practice and live fire training. Subjects covered include safety rules, firearm operation and basic marksmanship. Instructor observations provide constructive feedback to safely operate a firearm and familiarization with the state proficiency test.
The LTC Prep meets the classroom and shooting proficiency for those who have taken Texas DPS approved LTC online training. It meets the LTC Form 101 requirements.
Texas DPS requires 2 hours of range training and the additional shooting proficiency test to complete your online class requirements.

• Semi-automatic pistol (.380ACP or greater)*
• 100 rounds of factory ammunition

Attendance Policy: Once registered, if unable to attend class you may transfer to another class similar to the original. The procedure you must follow is to email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the conflicted class date with the requested new date subject to availability. This email must be received prior to the registered class. If you cancel, you will lose 50% of your registration fee. If you are a no show, you will lose 100% of your registration fee.
